I am going to let you in on a dirty little secret of mine…I still get butterflies in my stomach right before each and every one of my sessions.
Maybe it’s just me. I used to feel this way before every musical performance I gave when I was a musician, no matter how many times I might perform in a day. Logic would lead you to believe that the more you practice and perform a task, the less this would happen, but so far, that has not been the case for me.
This sweet little boy and his family immediately put those butterflies in my stomach to rest. While most kids have an adjustment period of at least couple of minutes, this little one jumped right out of his car seat to show me the boo boo on his finger. I also usually wait to get my camera out straight away, but I had to start shooting, as he was giving me the sweetest looks and smiles. His portrait shots were among the easiest I have ever taken, and were all taken within the first five minutes of the session! Talk about easy!
