It is such an amazing thing to hear a child’s first words. I can remember the thrill that went through my entire being the moment my daughter said her first word (it was ‘uhoh,’ by the way). For so long I had wondered what was going on inside her head, and finally a window was opening allowing me to peek inside her busy little being. Sometimes children still choose to not let us inside their little worlds, though. When I look at this photo, I cannot help but wonder what is going on inside his head. I can see the wheels turning, thinking some deep, fascinating thoughts, but all I can do is wonder what they may be.
